Did you know that popular hairstylist and pop star Harliquin "Harley" Merva has an events production company that along with VideoFilmWeb.com Inc. produced the live event portion of the 2nd Annual Platinum Pias Awards?! Also, Harley won the Pia for "Best Viral Video" as well as he himself was the director of the show?! And while directing the Pias Harley met Denise Morgan who is a media teacher at an institution in the South Bronx called High School for Violin and Dance that won the Pia for "Best Entertainment and Education Project" in conjunction with the documentary "HSVD Rocks". Harley was inspired by the work Denise is doing with South Bronx teens and began to wonder how he could get involved to help.

The opportunity arose with the 2nd Annual "Lights Camera Read" which is an event presented by Vide Film Web at at a select location each year of the approximately 90 branches of the New York Public Library throughout New York City. Denise Morgan was a judge at last year's Lights Camera Read contest which results in three top winning stories by toddlers, kids and teens based on his or her favorite Summer Reading NYC book.

Harley, realizing he could help transform and celebify South Bronx youth through reading and writing, gathered together a hand picked hair stylists and performers from Dramatics NYC in a new group called "Stylists for Literacy." This group, along with Lights Camera Read founder Yianni Stamas and his wife Alison, constitutes this year's "Magic Neighbors" troupe.
